Projects out for Bid:

  • Birch Bend residential subdivision

Located just minutes away from the mall business district, Birch Bend is the latest subdivision in McCracken County.  This new development will offer twenty-nine (29) single-family residential lots at an average size of 0.30 acres each, with an additional twenty (20) lots dedicated for duplex / town home construction.  In order to set itself apart, Birch Bend will provide concrete sidewalks throughout the subdivision to establish a family-friendly neighborhood.  Two additional tracts totaling approx. 12 acres are reserved for future Commercial development.  CDG is in the process of preparing private bid packages for the construction of the associated roadway and utilities.  Construction is anticipated to commence in early summer 2008.

  • City of Wickliffe River Lift Station

The City of Wickliffe, will receive bids for the installation of approximately 2000 LF of 4” force main and the upgrade of an existing duplex chopper pump station. Bids must be received prior to 3:00 PM (CST) on Friday, May 16, 2008, at Wickliffe City Hall, 321 Court Street, Wickliffe, KY at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. 

A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid.

Any contract(s) awarded under this Invitation for Bids are expected to be funded in part by a loan from the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority and/or by grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Neither the United States nor any of its departments, agencies or employees is or will be a party to this Invitation for Bids or any resulting contract. This procurement will be subject to regulations contained in 40 CFR Part 31.36 or with DOW Procurement Guidance with the exception of the Davis-Bacon Act.

Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Anti-Kickback Act, and the Contract Work Hours Standard Act and 40 CFR 31.36 L (3, 4, & 6).

Bidders must comply with the President’s Executive Order No. 11246 as amended, which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin.

This project will be in compliance with Executive Order 11426 (Equal Employment Opportunity) as amended.

The contractor/subcontractor will comply with 41 CFR 60-4, in regard to affirmative action, to insure equal opportunity to females and minorities and will apply the time tables and goal set forth in 41 CFR 60-4 if applicable to the area of the project.

The bidder will make positive efforts to use small, minority, women owned and disadvantaged businesses.

 The award will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible leader.

Proposed forms of Contract Documents, Plans and Specifications are on file at the office of the West Kentucky Construction Association (AGC), 2201 McCracken Blvd, Paducah, KY 42001.

Copies of Contract Documents, Plans and Specifications may be obtained at the office of Civil Design Group, 115 Carlisle Court, Paducah, KY 42001. The documents, plans and specifications can be viewed or purchased.  A Non-refundable Deposit of $100.00 will be required for each set of documents obtained.
