Key Qualifications: Mr. McBee has been intimately engaged in surveying for nine years. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, and is continually implementing the latest equipment and methodology relative to field equipment and software. In 2004, Mr. McBee successfully implemented Static GPS surveying at Civil Design Group, Inc. His ability to design and integrate Static GPS traverse networks on route surveying and utility projects has proven to be invaluable in terms of providing the design teams with quality surveys that are referenced to a common datum, often times Kentucky State Plane. Following the implementation of the Static GPS equipment, Mr. McBee researched, selected, and implemented Civil Design Group’s Real Time Kinematic survey system. This system, which relies on both domestic satellites as well as GLONAS (Russian) satellites, provides the company the ability to quickly collect survey grade information, while allowing the crew to revert back to conventional total station equipment if necessary. Project Experience: - Kentucky Airports · Licensed Private Pilot with Instrument Rating · Chairman of the Mayfield – Graves County, KY Airport Board., 2005 – Present - 4600’ x 100’ GA airport in Western Kentucky. Solicited and received Federal and State funds for projects such as t-hangars, fuel systems, and runway extensions. · Barkley Regional Airport – Paducah, KY., 2002 – Provided Topographic and “As-Built” surveys for Runway and Taxiway extensions. · Mayfield, Graves County Airport ., 2004 – Provided Boundary and Topographic surveys as well as aerial targeting and ground control for aerial mapping flights. · Murray, Calloway County Airport ., 2007 – Provided Boundary, Topographic, and “As-Built” surveys. · Fulton, Hickman County Airport ., 2007 - Provided Boundary, Topographic, and “As-Built” surveys. · Hawesville, Hancock County Airport., 2007 - Present – Provided aerial targeting and ground control for aerial mapping flights.
Project Experience: - Civil Site Development · Coordinate Geometry and Professional Land Surveyor, Westwood Hills Subdivision, Paducah, Ky., 2007– 48 acres site in the heart of the West End in Paducah, 94 Residential lots, boulevard section roadway, water plans, sewer plans, roadway plans and erosion control plans. Client: Hayden Construction · Coordinate Geometry and Professional Land Surveyor, Olivet Village Subdivision, Paducah, Ky., 2006 – 25 acres of residential and commercial development on Olivet Church Road, West of Kentucky Oaks Mall, zoned Mixed Use, the development is a blend of Patio Homes and Condominiums with two commercial buildings in the entrance of the property. Client: Mike Falconite. · Coordinate Geometry and Professional Land Surveyor, Meadowland Subdivision, Reidland, Ky., 1998 – 40 acre site of upscale residential lots. Client: Jerry Vasseur. · Coordinate Geometry and Professional Land Surveyor, White Pines Subdivision, Reidland, Ky., 2002 – 35 acre residential subdivision south of Reidland, upscale residences. Roadway Plans, Sewer and Water Plans and KTC entrance permit. Client: D & D Construction. · Coordinate Geometry and Professional Land Surveyor, Coppersmith Cove, Eddyville, Ky., 2006 – 250 acre development on the waters of Eddy Creek Bay. The severity of the terrain made for challenging civil engineering and costly construction but beautiful lots. Roadway and water and sewer plans. Client: Scott Logan, Atlanta, Ga.
Project Experience: - Survey · Survey Manager, Lexington Bypass, Lexington, TN - The project consisted of eight miles of route surveying for a new, four lane divided highway around the City of Lexington. Mr. McBee designed a GPS control network that involved the installation of control pairs throughout the project. These control pairs were utilized within the closed loop traverse performed by conventional total stations. Furthermore, with Mr. McBee’s oversight, field crews performed three wire, differential level loops between pairs of control monuments to determine accurate traverse point elevations. · Survey Manager, US 60 West Expansion Project, West Paducah, KY - The survey, based on Kentucky State Plane coordinates, was developed with static GPS control pairs, with conventional closed loop traverses and level loops. Digital terrain modeling was used for the initial alignment design, and supplemental field run profile information was utilized for final design plans to ensure proper clearances and minimum cover depths below drainage features. · Survey Manager, P&L Railways, Paducah to Louisville, KY – The project consisted of GIS grade mapping of over 400 miles of Railroad, Turnouts, Mileposts, and Crossings. Using high-end GPS receivers and cutting edge GIS data acquisition software, CDG created an invaluable tool for the client. · Survey Manager, Vulcan Materials, Grand Rivers, KY – The project consisted of exceedingly accurate construction layout of over six-thousand feet of overhead conveyor throughout the largest limestone quarry in North America.
